Who we are

We are a social and private non-profit organization, that since 1989 develops social projects in poor communities in the city of Medellín, with children, youth and parents, focusing on education, entertainment and arts, promoting reading and caring for the environment, implementing and evaluating effective and efficient learning processes, based on a comprehensive model of human development that teaches the people important values to transform themselves and their environment.

Vision With a committed team and working together with public and private sector, in 2015 the “Fundación Solidaria La Visitación” will triplicate its investment through an efficient and reliable management and will be recognized nationally and internationally for its expertise and leadership in promoting human development for the social transformation of vulnerable communities. * Taking as reference the financial statements at 31 December 2006.

"La Fundación Solidaria La Visitación" is committed to meeting the educational, recreational, psychosocial and nutritional needs of benefactors: children, adolescents, youth, families and socially and economically vulnerable communities, through effective learning processes based on a comprehensive model of human development in Initial Education and Toy Library programs.

We develop the potential of human talent and we strengthen the culture of solidarity in the benefactors in order to achieve sustainability and continuity of programs and continuous improvement of the institution.

Our History

"La Fundación Solidaria La Visitación" was born in 1989, when our city was going through one of the most difficult social situations; a group of people concerned about the disadvantaged, joined forces with” El Padre Emilio Múnera Betancur”, to sow the seeds of education, work and solidarity in vulnerable neighborhoods of Medellin. Thus, becoming a reliable bridge that unites private enterprise, government entities and individuals with residents of poor communities in the city.

With the passing of the years more and more dreamers have been joining us, and thanks to them, the smiles of children, youth and parents, have spread from north to south and from east to west.

In neighborhoods of steep streets, where the houses seem to grow on top of each other and you can almost touch the sky, our projects have echoed.

Currently we are working in neighborhoods of socioeconomic stratum 1 and 2 in the areas: north-eastern, northwestern, central-eastern, south-western and south-east.
